Kim Coleman is a Senior Policy Advisor in county government and a college adjunct Political Science instructor. She is past Vice Chair of the Utah GOP, has served on the state central committee for over a decade, and has been a highly successful campaign and elections consultant for nearly 25 years. She is a longtime conservative grassroots activist, an original co-founder of the Utah Tea Party, and brings a grassroots heart and soul perspective and drive to every position she has held. Kim served three terms in the Utah House of Representatives, holding several leadership positions and is regarded as a state policy expert on campus free speech and due process rights.
Kim is the founder and creator of Monticello Academy charter schools and a founder of Utah’s first ESA scholarship program. Kim pioneered a method for capital facilities financing that now serves as a model for charter school building construction. She has served on numerous boards, commissions and committees, including Planning Commission, American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network and Conservative Education Reform Network, Utah Opioid Task Force, Children’s Justice Center Advisory Board, Criminal and Juvenile Justice Sentencing Commission, Moms for Safe Neighborhoods PAC, Latter Day Saints for Trump Advisory Board, and more.
Kim graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in Sociology, Psychology and a certificate in Criminal Justice Systems. Kim and her husband Joel have five children and three grandchildren. Born in Louisiana and raised in Texas and Louisiana, Kim now calls West Jordan, Utah home.
